A live project proposal for Nokia, working on a fictional brief with Kin, an interactive design company. In this group project we were briefed to designed an exhibition, which would illustrated the concept of Nokia’s new social location technology. Our group of four designed an interactive seating area. Initially in the centre of the seating a projection shows words randomly floating around. When a person sits down, the area around them illuminates and the word on the projection swarm towards them. When another individual joins them, the area around them also illuminates as well as the space between them. The light is used to map the social connection between people. The words are also attracted by the second person and form trail between them. The words ask and answer the question ‘what are you doing?’ creating a fictional conversation. The same principal applies when more people join the seating.
